What is DOD Tech's return policy?
DOD Tech Canada will replace your product or part free of charge if your product/part has a manufacturing defect covered by our Warranty Policy.

Outside North America:

If your product needs to be returned within the warranty period, please do so through the retailer or distributor from whom you purchased the product.

In North America:

Before returning any package please contact our customer support team through the "Contact Us" page. We can often solve your problem via phone or email.
Returning Your Product
If our Customer Support Team determines your products qualifies under warranty coverage you will be issued an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. When shipping your product please ensure the RMA form sent by customer service is filled out, your proof of purchase included and the merchandise returned as instructed by DOD Tech Canada. Be sure to package the product securely (preferably in its original packaging).
Shipping Charges & Damages
Your dealer or DOD Tech Canada will not be responsible for damage due to shipping. The customer is responsible for shipping charges to DOD Tech Canada. Return shipping from DOD Tech Canada to the customer will be free of charge.

DOD Tech Canada reserves the right to change the method by which DOD Tech Canada may provide warranty service to you, and your DOD Tech Product’s eligibility to receive a particular method of service.
Service Outside of Canada
Service will be limited to the options available in the country where service is requested. Service options, parts availability and response times may vary according to country. You may be responsible for shipping and handling charges if the DOD Tech Product cannot be serviced in the country it is in. If you seek service in a country that is not the original country of purchase, you will comply with all applicable import and export laws and regulations and be responsible for all custom duties, V.A.T. and other associated taxes and charges. Where international service is available, DOD Tech Canada may repair or replace DOD Tech Products and parts with comparable DOD Tech Products and parts that comply with local standards.

Our 30 Days Money Back Guarantee is only applicable to orders placed through this website.

We stand behind our products and services. If for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase from DOD Tech Canada, just return the item(s) in new condition within 30 days after delivery for a prompt refund, less shipping and handling charges. No restocking charges, no hassles!

All items must be in new (mint) condition. Returned items cannot show evidence of use or wear, dirt, or blemishes of any kind. Merchandise must be returned in its original packaging and should include all supplied materials, instructions, warranty cards, original accessories, hardware, and any software provided.

From time to time, DOD Tech Canada may offer free promotional items with our products. To receive a full refund on an order that contains a promotional item, all items must be returned. The cost of any promotional items not returned will be deducted from the refund total.

From time to time, DOD Tech Canada may offer product bundles which include promotional items such as gift cards. In order to receive a full refund on a bundle, all items must be returned and the gift card must have retained its full value. In other words, the gift cards cannot have been used. If the gift card has been used, the bundle cannot be returned and DOD Tech Canada will not be able to offer a refund.

We suggest that merchandise be securely packaged and insured for the full retail value, as DOD Tech Canada is not responsible for lost or damaged packages. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. If your purchase was made from the DOD Tech Canada print catalog or website, we can locate your proof of purchase with your name and billing address. However, if your purchase was made from one of our retail partners, please contact your place of purchase for return.

DOD Tech Canada product purchased from an authorized dealer would need to be returned to the location of the original purchase and are subject to the return policies of that location.

We can make this easy with pre-paid UPS return labels. Print your return label from home, take your return box / boxes to any UPS location, and return your order to us without the hassle of paying return costs in advance. We'll deduct return shipping from your refund.

Return shipping costs will be calculated as $9.95 per-order plus any per-item charges published in our website for larger / heavier items.
Does DOD Tech sell refurbished products?
Yes, refurbished products can be purchased from DOD's online store at the following link: Refurbished Products Store Page. All refurbished products come with a 180 day warranty.

Installation & Setup

How is the dashboard camera powered?

The camera is powered using the supplied power adapter. All DOD cameras are powered through the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket.

Will there be any wires hanging from my dashboard camera?

The supplied 4m (13 ft) DC power adapter cable can be routed and hidden between the gaps in various places such as the vehicle’s headliner and the pillar. For more installation tips and assistance please visit our getting started page for a video tutorial.
Operating your camera

How can I view my recorded videos?

You can view your videos directly on the LCD screen or using the included USB cable, you can connect it directly to your personal computer and view the footage on your monitor.

Can I disable the microphone?

Yes. All DOD cameras have a menu setting to disable audio recording. On newer cameras you can disable the microphone while recording by holding down the mute button (see menu for location).

In addition, your personal and account information and transaction history are kept behind our firewall on separate servers. All transaction information is processed under encrypted channels, although you may choose un-encrypted processing.

What is DOD's warranty policy?

Warranty Policy

DOD Tech Canada warrants its new products to be free from defects resulting from faulty manufacture or faulty components under the following terms and conditions:

I. Warranty Length

For newly purchased, previously unopened DOD Tech Canada products, parts and labour are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase, except as noted. Replacement products will be warranted for the remainder of the warranty period or thirty days, whichever is longer. Products sold as Refurbished stock have their own limited warranty.

II. Who Is Protected

This warranty is enforceable only by the original consumer purchaser. Proof of purchase is required for warranty service. DOD Tech Canada will only warranty units purchased from authorized resellers. Please contact us via email ( to verify if your product qualifies for warranty.

III. What Is And Is Not Covered

Note that our warranty is not an unconditional guarantee for the length of the 1-year length of the warranty. DOD Tech Canada products are manufactured by DOD Tech Taiwan. But, like any other product, they are not indestructible. Therefore, our warranty does not cover product damage that may result from abuse or mishandling of the products, nor does it cover incidental or consequential damage.

Not Covered By Warranty

  • Any product which has been modified without permission from DOD Tech Canada, or on which the serial number or warranty sticker has been defaced, modified, or removed.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from:
    • Accident, abuse, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, or other acts of nature, unauthorized product modification or failure to follow instructions included with the product
    • Repair or attempted repair by anyone not authorized by DOD Tech Canada Inc.
    • Shipping or transport damage (claims must be made with the carrier)
    • Any other cause which does not relate to a product defect.
  • Cases, batteries, accessories or other consumables used with this product.
  • Product not meeting your requirements. It is your responsibility to determine the suitability of this product for your purpose.
  • products purchased through unauthorized resellers/dealers, or products sold by resellers/dealers outside of North America region.
  • Removal or installation charges.
  • Shipping charges.
  • Any incidental charges.

IV. Exclusion Of Damages

DOD Tech Canada's sole obligation and liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of a defective product at our option. DOD Tech Canada shall not, in any event, be liable for any incidental or consequential damage, including but not limited to damages resulting from interruption of service and loss of business, or for liability in tort relating to this product or resulting from its use or possession.

V. Limitations Of Implied Warranties

There are no other warranties, expressed or implied, including but not limited to those of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The duration of implied warranties is limited to the warranty length specified in Paragraph I.

VI. Local Law And Your Warranty

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights granted under local law. These rights may vary.

VII. Products purchased from Unauthorized Resellers / Vendors located outside of North America Region / Grey Market Products

DOD Tech Canada is unable to provide any type of support or provide firmware upgrades to any equipment purchased from Unauthorized Resellers, Vendors located outside of the North America Region, or purchases from the grey market. VIII. Products outside warranty period

For all out of warranty products, technical support will be provided on an hourly-rate basis (pre-authorization of a credit card may be required prior to support being provided). In many cases, your Technical Support Representative can remotely diagnose and correct the issue. However, if it is determined the equipment requires factory repair, DOD Tech Canada will issue an RMA (Return Material Authorization) and can generally complete repairs within 14 business days (excluding shipping time). A repair quote will be provided upon request. Out of warranty support can be paid using the attached credit card authorization form. Your options will be discussed with you before any charges are incurred.

IV. Exclusion des dommages

Les seules obligation et responsabilité de DOD Tech Canada en vertu de cette garantie sont limitées à la réparation ou au remplacement d’un produit défectueux à notre gré. VIII. Produits hors période de garantie
