Formatting 64GB microSDXC Cards for DOD Tech Cameras

64GB MicroSDXC cards can be used in all LS, CR and RX series DOD Tech cameras. Do not use the camera’s built-in format setting as it was not designed for use with 64GB cards.

Instructions

  1. Download the Memory Card Program Here
  2. Remove all USB thumb drives and USB hard drives from your computer before formatting.
  3. Insert the memory card into the USB Card Reader’s card slot (if the device uses microSDXC cards, please use the adapter accompanied with your memory card package).
  4. Plug the USB end of the USB Card Reader into an empty USB plug on your computer.
  5. A dialogue should pop up on your computer. Close the dialogue by click on the “X” on top right corner of the window.
  6. Open the file downloaded (FAT32-Formatter.exe). A program named “FAT32 Formatter” should open.
  7. Please select the drive letter of your USB Card Reader. The correct drive should state either 63G or 64G beside the drive letter.
  8. When the correct drive has been selected, please click on “Start” at the bottom of the program

  9. Please wait until the program completes its task. DO NOT REMOVE THE USB CARD READER OR THE MEMORY CARD WHEN THE PROGRAM IS IN OPERATION
  10. The program will display the phrase “Done” when the task has been completed. Close the program and remove the USB card reader from your computer.

Congratulations, your 64GB memory card will now work with your DOD camera.

Instructions

  1. Remove all USB thumb drives and USB hard drives from your computer before formatting.
  2. Insert the memory card into the USB Card Reader’s card slot (if the device uses microSDXC cards, please use the adapter accompanied with your memory card package).
  3. Plug the USB end of the USB Card Reader into an empty USB plug on your computer.
  4. Please open up the application called ‘Disk Utility’.
  5. Please select the microSD card from the list. The correct drive should state 64GB beside it.
  6. On the tabs labelled ‘First Aid | Erase | Partition | RAID | Restore’, please select Erase.
  7. Ensure that the format option is set to ‘MS-DOS(FAT)’
  8. Press Erase on the bottom right corner of the application.
  9. A message should pop up. Press Yes.
  10. You will see a blue progress bar at the bottom of the application. Once it is done, you should be able to use the memory card in your camera!

Congratulations, your 64GB memory card will now work with your DOD camera.
